KonAspen is two things at once. We buy, renovate, build, and lend on real estate across the Kansas City metro — and we let qualified investors put their capital into those same deals and earn a return, without ever swinging a hammer or managing a tenant. One side finds and executes the deals; the other side funds them.
Preferred returns are targets, not guarantees; offered to accredited investors through definitive documents. Not an offer to sell securities.
Put capital into real-estate-backed debt or equity and earn a preferred return — without operating property yourself.
Explore investing →Get fast, flexible, real-estate-secured capital when a bank is too slow or too rigid on a solid deal.
See private lending →Bring us a deal that fits the thesis, or join the vetted bench we execute every project with.
Meet the network →We concentrate where we have an operator's edge: the affluent, school-anchored submarkets of the Kansas City metro, with a focus on Johnson County, Kansas.

Austin Moss brings two decades of capital-markets, private-credit, and real-estate experience to residential investment across the Kansas City metro. His career has followed a single throughline: understanding how risk is priced, and building businesses that get paid for managing it well.
He began as an operator — founding and scaling companies in appliance service and freight logistics, including Freight Your Way, later sold to Traffic Tech — before moving into wealth management at Mutual of Omaha, where he earned his FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 licenses. That grounding in securities, suitability, and fiduciary standards still shapes how he evaluates every dollar he deploys.
For more than twelve years he has specialized in private credit and alternative finance. He built and managed a $50 million evergreen, high-yield, short-duration business-debt fund that averaged roughly 22% net IRR from 2020 through 2023 — underwriting hundreds of transactions and learning to read collateral, cash flow, and downside in a single glance. Today he leads Capital Collab, an alternative-financing platform that has facilitated more than $2.2 billion in lifetime transactions, and serves as Founder and Chairman of OpalKadia, the multi-brand holding company housing his operating businesses and investments.
That platform experience spans the full capital stack: capital raising and deal structuring, acquisitions and dispositions, creative debt and equity stacks, and pricing methodology across single-family, multifamily, and commercial assets. He has structured senior and subordinate debt, participating notes, preferred equity, and hybrid instruments — and prices each layer the way a credit committee would.
He applies that same underwriting discipline to real estate. He prices known and disclosed conditions into his basis rather than around them, buys at a disciplined discount to list to build an equity buffer at entry, and times exits with tax efficiency in mind rather than chasing the top tick. He would rather be paid to be patient than forced to be lucky.
A man of faith, Moss believes capital is meant to be stewarded rather than accumulated, and that the real measure of a business is its integrity when no one is watching. His operating order is simple — faith first, then habits, then business — and it carries into his community through inner-city youth work and global ministry, including Freedom Hoops and GO Ministries.
For investors and lending partners, that combination is the point: a sponsor who has managed institutional-grade credit risk, underwrites real estate with a lender's eye and an operator's patience, and treats other people's capital the way he treats his own.
